Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Blu Room Architecture collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Blu Room Architecture is an architectural design practice with offices at 792 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester M20 6UG and 5 Uplands Road, Darlington DL3 7SZ. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@bluroomarchitecture.co.uk or on 07760 364894.
Information you give us
When you fill in our enquiry form, email or phone us, we collect the details you choose to share. That is usually your name, email address, phone number and a description of your project, and sometimes your property’s address.
We use this only to reply to your enquiry, arrange a consultation, give you a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out your project. We do this because you have asked us to, or to take steps towards a contract with you. We will not add you to a mailing list or pass your details to anyone for marketing.
Information collected when you visit the site
With your permission, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how people find and use this site and whether our adverts lead to enquiries. These tools set cookies and collect information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location and the type of device you use. They do not tell us who you are.
If you do not accept cookies, these tools do not set cookies or store identifiers on your device. Google may still receive basic, anonymous signals that a page was viewed or an enquiry was made, which it uses to estimate overall advert performance.
When you click our phone number or send the enquiry form, we record that this happened so we can tell which adverts work. We do not send the contents of your message to Google.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. We use the following:
- bluroom_consent remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we do not ask on every page. It lasts six months and is always set, because it records your choice.
- _ga and _ga_* are set by Google Analytics to tell visits apart. They last up to two years and are only set if you accept.
- _gcl_au and other _gcl cookies are set by Google Ads to link an enquiry to the advert that led to it. They last up to 90 days and are only set if you accept.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Rejecting removes the Google cookies we have set. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run our business, and only as far as they need it to do so:
- Google, for website analytics and advertising measurement, if you accept cookies. Google may process this information outside the UK, under safeguards approved by UK law. You can read Google’s privacy policy.
- Our website host and email provider, which store the website, enquiry form submissions and our emails.
- Professionals involved in your project, such as structural engineers, building control and your local planning authority, but only if you become a client and only what your project needs.
The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and some code from a content delivery network. Like any website, those services receive your IP address so they can send files to your browser.
How long we keep information
If you make an enquiry but do not become a client, we keep your details for up to two years in case you come back to us, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as we need them for legal, insurance and accounting reasons, which is usually up to seven years after the project ends.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email info@bluroomarchitecture.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
